Nikki Atkins counts lines for a living (no, really), so she has a tendency to load up on creative endeavors in her spare time to keep her brain from turning into tapioca. When she’s not talking to herself in a closet with a microphone you can find her knitting, dancing hula, rehearsing for a local theater production, writing a novel, or occasionally dressing up in armor and smacking people with sticks (or more commonly, getting smacked with a stick. Her mad fighting skillz have not grown in yet). Her current obsession is National Novel Writing Month, which since 2004 has given her the crushing arbitrary deadline necessary to wring 7 novels out of her. Someday she’ll be published and richer than J.K. Rowling and can quit her job counting lines to spend all her time being obnoxiously creative. A person can dream, can’t they?
