I was driving home yesterday from a late evening meeting in Newmarket (I live in Oakville) and heard your podcast on CBC Radio. I thought it was brilliant. I loved seeing my community through your eyes. I sat in my driveway to catch the end of your program and after a while my wife came out in a lather thinking I was sick or something. She seemed glad I wasn’t but I could tell she thought I might be going senile or worse(sigh). Anyway … keep up the great work. I think you are very talented.
I’m in Shawnigan Lake, Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Like Randy, I listened to your podcast while driving home Wednesday evening from a late meeting. My young adult son has recently moved to Toronto, and I’ve been there once so far to visit him (we rode that very subway line, in fact!) so I listened with great interest to your take, as a similar-age young person, on his new community.

Ooh, have I not yet commented on this post?
I’m in lovely Keene, NH.
Did you know that the pumpkin was just declared the NH state fruit? Keene is home to a big pumpkin festival every October. I believe we currently hold the world record for having the most lit jack-o-lanterns in one place. Boston tried to beat us one year, but really, there’s no beating small town spirit. Boston lost.
Keene is also relatively close to Mt. Monadnock, for which a whole *type of mountain* was named. Pretty cool, eh?
I like my adopted home. :-)
London, UK.
Hello! I’d been listening to Brenda’s podcasts for a while and then I heard a promo for your podcast and thought you had a gorgeous voice so I had to come over and see what Quirky Nomads was about. I spent yesterday at work listening to about 5 of your episodes (er, while working!) and I loved them all. Thanks so much :-)

I’m in a mobile home in a park for “older persons” in San Jose, California. I’m taking care of my mother who is not well. Generally, though, I say I’m from San Francisco - bec. that’s where I’ve lived the last 7 years. I was born in Indiana, reared in Illinois and became an adult in Arizona. Came to CA to become a nun. And so I am. That’s where I am.
¡Hola! Vivo en Paraná (Argentina) y me gustaría ver eso en tu mapa.

I’m in Waterbury, CT. Well, that’s where I live. I work in Ridgefield, CT. I’d rather be in Metairie, LA, just outside of New Orleans, where I moved from in January, but that damn hurricane last year made that wish impossible.

The skit for 8 Words a Month had me in stitches, but I have also thoroughly enjoyed the other skits which I have been able to catch, viz., Skin and 10 Items Or Less. I’m a recent addict, er, convert to podcasts. I learned of yours through Bruce Murray’s Zedcast, which I linked from Polarbear, etc.

“Greetings from - “Mariefred” (60kms SW of Stockholm) - Sweden - Your life in Canada sounds fun and your podcasts always make me smile. I found you through Brenda of Cast-On.
I’m in Austin, Texas. I can’t believe I’m the first person to post that location, since people in my city (1) love a good story and (2) have secret Canada envy. (No, seriously - look at a county-by-county voting map from the 2004 election: we’re the only blue county in a sea of red.)
Hi Sage, I live in Tucson, AZ. Love your show.
Auckland, New Zealand. Yesterday it rained through the sunshine, and it was like being caught in an avalanche of diamonds.
Saint Paul, MN, which from our degree of blue-ness might as well be Canada! Thanks again for the info on your mom’s blankets! Dawn

Hey Sage,
I’m new to your podcast, got onto it, like Sue above, from the bodacious Brenda of Cast-On! Every time I heard you do an essay or heard your promo I’d say to myself again “You’ve GOT to check out quirky!” So now I have :) Hurrah! Keep it up chica!

Hi, Sage! I listen to you from Platteville, Wisconsin while knitting or spinning!
I live and work in Southern California, Harbor City to be specific.
White River Junction is in Vermont…and so am I.
I’m so embarrassed. I should have caught that when browsing Sage’s pages. I grew up about 15 miles from WRJ, and lived a short walk over the bridge from WRJ in W. Lebanon for almost two years. Oops!
*laughing* WHOOPS. I mean, I mean, White River Junction, VERMONT.
I’m on the Secluded Wooded Lot, known as the SWL to my friends, fans and readers (three non-discrete groups, admittedly). This is my little plot of land in the woods of Pennsylvania. The nearest town of any note (on maps, at least) is called Emporium - it’s 4.5 miles as the crow flies, but a 45 minute drive, the first third of which is done without benefit of pavement. There are, for the record, no emporiums in Emporium. It’s a great place to be, just the same.
I’m listening from St. Paul, Minnesota.

I’m making my way through your archives from Pittsburgh, PA and loving every one of them!
I live in the middle of North Dakota, on land three miles from the nearest gravel road, in the playhouse of my dreams with my husband/best friend, cat and dog. When spring really arrives we’ll be joined by a new puppy, chickens, 6 sheep and 2 goats. On this slice of heaven we read (a lot), tend a huge organic garden, and visit neighbors. I spin and knit every possible moment my hand are free and listen to a few select podcasts, this being one of my favorites.
Here in Iowa City, Iowa, I’m cracking up at work listening to your podcast, to which I’ve been newly introduced.
Thanks!

Hi! I live close to Amsterdam in the Netherlands
It’s amusing to me to see people responding from so many places I’ve lived or have visited often because family live there. Madison, WI, San Francisco, Redwood City, CA, Chicago, and now I live in Berlin, Germany. Now that I live in Germany, I’ve visited several of the European cities listed as well. As an expat, since the culture is so different, there’s something about being able to connect, even in some small way to a place, that helps me feel more connected in general.
I’m in Missoula, MT for the moment. But next year I’ll be in Aberystwyth, Wales! \o/
I’m in Vantaa, Finland. (Right next to the capital, Helsinki, but such a suburbia it’s only barely funny.)
I hail from rural southwest Idaho (near Boise). I don’t know how I survived my daily commute before I discovered Quirky Nomads!
st john’s, newfoundland. about as far east as you can go on this big old continent (the eastern most point is actually about a 10 minute drive from the city, so i’m not quite on the edge…but close enough).
I’m sitting at my computer working about 15 miles south of Cambridge, UK. But in my heart I’m home in Alberta.
