Submit a Story
Chicago Public Radio is running a contest. They provide three elements of a story, you write and record the story, then submit it. I thought it would be interesting to do something similar here, although I want to stress that this is not a contest, just an opportunity to participate in the show.
The three elements are:
a time limit: three minutes
an opening line: “There are two things I can’t stand.”
a photograph [VIEW]
You may send an audio file, a voicemail, or an email - just make sure to read it out loud first so you know it comes in under three minutes.
The deadline is: Wednesday, May 24, 2006
Participate I was eavesdropping on one side of a cellphone conversation, and I decided it would make a good model for listener participation. I want at least five people to make up one side of a conversation and send it in, via email, voice comment, or voicemail. Then I’d like five more people to volunteer to provide the other half of the conversation. Don’t worry - you don’t need any technical know-how to do this. The deadline is Monday, May 22, but please let me know as soon as possible if you’d like to participate.
