While I can't guarantee that David Miller will get in as Mayor I did go and do my part in the hopes that it would help. Time will tell.

Congrats on getting this far on the road to Canadian citizenship. It is great of Todd's company to do this as I realize that it is no small sum that they are putting out for this. Hopefully the rest won't take as long and you can all celebrate even more soon.

You're right about the white house. And while it might not make me very popular to say this, one very strong motivator in my not wanting to move back is that most of the people who voted for him are still there and 1 in 3 people surveyed still supports him!

Yay! Congrats on almost being a hop, skip, and a jump from Canadian citizenship! I have a friend who is going through the same thing, and it's great to hear about actual progress being made for all of you toward that goal.

No matter what the Republicans may (or may *not*!) be doing now, I think your tag line still makes sense. Your reasons were certainly accurate when you made the decision to move. And as wonderful as it as that Democrats have control of congress, it still takes a 2/3 vote to override a presidential veto. Not to be a spoilsport, but despite the dramatic improvement US citizens voted in last week, there is still a long way to go, and no doubt a lot of frustration to be had for at least the next 2 years. There is still a very scary Republican in the white house.
