Ahhhhhhh! No subway here, but now it’ll be STUCK IN MY HEAD ALL DAY. :P
Hehe. I think I’m just young enough to have not been a regular Mork and Mindy watcher, thus I’m only stuck with the Sesame Street song, which I don’t mind one bit. In fact, I may pull out that CD with the Captain Vegetable song, and fully indulge in this regression into childhood.
Of course, when I prepare lunch I’ll have to contend with the microwave that plays They Might Be Giants’ “Anna Ng”, which by this point is so stuck in my head that there is little hope of every getting rid of it, short of tossing the microwave.
ARGH!!! I never even thought that the TTC chimes sound like Mork & Mindy. Now I’ll never get it out of my head. ARGH!!! Why did I have to be one of the people that you’re cursing?? LOL
Great essay Shelly, poignant but not sappy.
Amen to fighting against materialism and hurray to couples who stick together through the tough times!
