I'm from Belgium and watched Flemish tv shows. The one I watched the most was 'Samson en Gert' about a dog and its owner. It's still running, 18 years later. Here's a clip from the very beginning: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FzID5GDQgs&feature=related

Hi, Sage. Well, this is really dating me. But in 1955 I watched "Ding Dong School with Miss Francis." I loved her and have even collected some memorabilia from her show. Of course it was in black and white, but I imagined color as she showed us how to make things out of construction paper. I also watched the "Howdy Doody" show and "Captain Kangaroo" and the original "Disney Mouseketeers." The dates probably overlapped as far as the years that they were on. I remember them all as wonderful shows.

Mr. Dressup. I thought I had watched Mr. Rogers too, until I looked it up on Wikipedia and nothing seemed familiar. Maybe I saw half an ep here and there.

If you want to hear Mr. Rogers from 1969, get the Search Engine (CBC) podcast on iTunes and get the episode from Dec 27th, 2007. Go to about 22m17s. You'll hear him defending the importance of his childrens' programme after Jesse explains what's going on.
