I was one of the people laughing to themselves on the subway today thanks to this podcast. Thanks, Paul. No, really - thanks! (Great show as usual, Sage, aka my favorite podcaster)

Paul, honey, it's ok. I told a couple of moms at the library just the other day--reading graphic novel really *does* count as reading. Really.

Sure they are - they're all individualists in the same way. That's what the store Hot Topic is all about!

I remember my parents gave me a book when I was about 11 called "Dare to be Different: Dealing with Peer Pressure" which they thought was going to be a helpful book about, I don't know, how to be OK with being unpopular or just saying "no" (this was before Nancy started saying that). But NO - it was how it was OK to be different - i.e. an evangelical Christian when surrounded by lots of 'unchurched' people. In other words, be a ruggeed individualist - just in the accepted way!

Wow that authority song gave me the creeps. I guess the U.S. isn't the spiritual home of rugged individualism anymore. :-)
