Remember playing the game “Operator” when you were a kid? You’d whisper a phrase to the kid next to you, he’d whisper it to the kid next to him, and so on. This is the QN version. All most participants need is the ability to send an email.

Participate
This is how it works:

1) The first player writes down a sentence. For example: “The dog barked all night.”

2) The second player takes that sentence and conveys it using only sound effects. For example: Crickets chirping to indicate evening, the dog barking and barking and barking, a rooster crowing to indicate morning.

3) The third player only hears the sound effects. She/he comes up with a sentence that best describes the sound effects. For example: “In the warm summer night, the dog heard an intruder.”

4) The fourth player repeats the second step.

5) The fifth player repeats the third step.

And so on. As you can see, the original sentence will be quite garbled by the time it’s finished. Doesn’t this sound like fun? And better yet, doesn’t it sound EASY?

Sound effect players can either send me a list of sounds they want to use from the Freesound Project (no sound editing required) or create their own sound file and send it to me.
